FAQ

Things people actually ask

The short version: TFTSense reads your own screen and coaches you live. Here are the questions that come up most. Still stuck? The Discord is the fastest way to reach us.

What does TFTSense read, and what does it never touch?

TFTSense is pure computer vision: it reads only what is already on your own screen, the same way a streaming overlay or a screen recorder does. It never reads game memory, never injects into or modifies the game, never automates any input, and makes no contact with Riot's servers or the game process. Only Riot decides what is allowed in its games; our guide on whether TFT overlays are allowed sets out what Riot's third-party policy targets.

Will it get my account banned?

Nobody but Riot can promise that, and we do not. What we can state is what TFTSense does: it reads only your own screen and never touches the game process, game memory or your input, so it does none of the things Riot's third-party policy targets (memory reading, injection, input automation, opponent-only information). It behaves like any other window sitting on top of your game. The full breakdown, with Riot's policy quoted, is in our guide on whether TFT overlays are allowed. (TFTSense is not affiliated with or endorsed by Riot Games.)

Does it comply with Riot's developer policy for TFT (the real-time data rule)?

Here is the factual picture, and only Riot can rule on how its policy applies. Riot's TFT developer policy is written for products built on Riot's API; it draws hard lines at opponent data and hidden information (apps may not track or predict opponents' plays, may not reveal anything the game hides, and may not automate input), and it also restricts real-time suggestions in API-based apps. TFTSense reads only your own screen, never shows anything about an opponent you cannot already see yourself, never automates input, and we claim no approval or endorsement from Riot. Also worth knowing: the in-game coach does not use the Riot API at all - it is computer vision over your own screen. The API is only touched for your own post-game stats and the optional, manual lobby rank lookup, which uses public account data. TFTSense is not affiliated with or endorsed by Riot Games, and if Riot ever asks us to change something, we will.

How do I get access? Is there a free version?

Start with the free 24-hour trial: create a TFTSense account, download the app, and log in. The trial starts on first launch, one per machine, no card needed. After that it is $3 a month or $17 once for lifetime, and both plans are the complete coach with no feature gates. Buy on the Pricing page and the app unlocks on up to 3 of your machines. If you still hold an alpha key from the old program, it keeps working.

Do I need to calibrate my board?

Yes. The first time you run it, calibrate your board once in Settings. That one-time setup tells TFTSense where your hexes are on screen, which is what lets it draw the champion-placement bubbles on the correct tiles and read your board accurately. It takes a few seconds and is remembered between games.

What display settings work best?

Run Teamfight Tactics at 1920×1080 for the best results - that is what the on-screen readers are tuned for. 1440p, 4K, and ultrawide monitors are supported too. Borderless or windowed both work.

Why is there a yellow frame around my game window while TFTSense runs?

That frame is drawn by Windows, not by TFTSense. Windows outlines any window that is being screen-captured, the same indicator you see when you share a window on Discord or Teams, and TFTSense reads your game through that capture. On Windows 11 the app asks Windows to hide the frame. On Windows 10 Microsoft does not let any app remove it. If it bothers you, run the game in borderless fullscreen: the frame then sits on the very edge of the screen where it is hardly visible.

Which TFT sets are supported?

The current set: Set 18, Enchanted Wilds. TFTSense is updated every set, with the comp library and the on-screen readers refreshed for the live patch.

Windows warned me about the installer. Is the download safe?

Yes. Every TFTSense installer and update is code-signed, so Windows can verify the download really came from us - the publisher name is shown right on the dialog. If SmartScreen still shows a caution on a brand-new release while Microsoft builds reputation for it, click 'More info' and then 'Run anyway'. After that first install the app updates itself quietly - no more downloads, no more warnings.

How do updates work?

Automatically. The app checks for updates when it starts and installs them in the background, so you are always on the latest patch's comps and coaching without reinstalling anything.

How do refunds work?

Purchases go through your TFTSense account, and our refund policy is published on this site. If TFTSense is not working out for you, open a ticket on the Discord or use the support page and we will sort out a fix or a refund.

What happens to my plan if I get a new PC?

Your plan lives on your TFTSense account, not on one machine. Sign in on the new PC and it unlocks - a plan covers up to 3 devices, and you can remove an old machine from your account page any time. Older alpha keys: open a ticket on the Discord and we will move you over.
